Below, you can read about some of her career accomplishments in her own words.
I grew up as a Formula 1 fan dreaming about beautiful racing cars at my home town in Turkey. One day, I made my dreams come true becoming the senior systems integration engineer at Mercedes AMG HPP developing the first generation Formula 1 hybrid engine. My particular focus was on the battery pack and its electronics. Driven by Lewis Hamilton, McLaren Mercedes F1 team became the first Formula 1 team winning a race with a hybrid engine racing car at the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix. Needless to say I was in tears making a childhood dream come true.
I was involved in developing several electrified sports cars and their powertrain components. One of them, the Jaguar C-X75, even appeared in the James Bond movie Spectre as the villain's car. I served as the principal engineer for the hybrid systems of that vehicle. I still remember those days when our small, proud team achieved a miracle by meeting all performance targets, despite the limited number of cars ultimately built.
I was the chief engineer developing the battery pack that powered the first generation of all FIA Formula E racing cars. In later years, we were honoured to receive the Queen's Award for Enterprise Innovation from Her Majesty The Queen.
I was in charge of Jaguar Formula E racing car powertrain development between 2015 and 2018. I led the team to become the first in Formula E to design and develop an in-house electric powertrain with cutting-edge technologies. Very happy to see their success and I keep celebrating their wins.
I made a rather unconventional move to commercial vehicle sector in 2018. Life works strangely sometimes. I needed a change and I thought this would be an interesting opportunity to learn about another sector. I set up an other ePowertrain engineering team at FPT Industrial. They now manufacture batteries for light commercial vehicles and eAxles for heavy commercial vehicles.
I was promoted to Vice President of Advanced Technology and Innovation role in 2021 and worked on introducing new technologies in pursuit of reduced emission and more automated agricultural machinery until 2024.
